These illustrations were done for a hypothetical annual report for the vinyl toy company kidrobot. I just had fun making surreal images focusing around the shapes of their toys and the bright colours and energy that is associated with the company.
This is a typographic exploration I did for my product design class. ( I designing a hypothetical denim company. I'll post more design pieces for this later.) I'm super excited with the ink drawing technique I've been playing with that I used here, I've begun incorporating it into other drawings and illustrations and getting some interesting results. I'll post more of those in the next few days.
Sketch experimentation. I don't know if this is a direction that could lead anywhere. But right now I'm going to try as many things as possible, hopefully trying to work some sense of visual identity for me.
This is my first project this year. It's a portrait study, supposed to be conceptual. Mine is a comment on how Marc Jacob's has become bigger than the individual, more of an icon, a cultural phenomena. It's not my favorite piece, I would love to do it over, and maybe I will. Painting it was fun.
Some more pages from my sketchbooks. Another acrylic study, and a watercolour. These are actually from the summer. I've been drawing a lot lately, there will be much more to come.
I've certainly neglected my blog, but with school around the corner once again, I'm hoping to be much more diligent with posting. Here is a page from my sketchbook, experiment with Acrylic paint.
I am fortunate enough to be participating in a group show this month, it is called 'Midway Mania' and is themed on, you guessed it, the Midway. The show will be opening Thursday July the third at the Looks Could Kill Boutique (Art Central.) The show is stacked with talented artists, come by and check it out.
Some of the more successful pages from my sketch book. I think a couple of idea's might eventually work themselves into paintings.
The other is a sketch of an elderly man I saw on the train, he had a face full of character and wear from a long life. In the drawing he seems to wearing a smirk, of what's the cause, I'm not privy to.
This is a recent painting. An abstract style painting, which is new for me, I've just been having fun experimenting and playing lately. I think this might develop into a series of sorts, there a few others in the works, I'll post as they are finished. Enjoy.
Hi, this is my first time blogging. I am a developing Illustrator, designer, and writer, and I will be posting samples of my work for all to see here. Please check it out.
