Working..

I know I haven't made a post in quite some time, and the blog is in need of something new. I'm working on a few assignments right now, which I will likely post on the blog in a few weeks, but for now here is a snapshot of my process for my current project. More to come soon.

I finally finished my explorer illustration. I spent a lot of time re-working it, but I'm happy with it at this point. I plan on using this as a promotional piece, as I embark on to paths unknown....

I certainly don't feel like I've been creating enough work lately, and I definitely have not been blogging enough. Here are some sketchbook pages from the last few days. I'll do some sprucing up, make this a more exciting place to visit.

Ink Painting

This is the finished Ink painting for my promo illustration. It's more complex than anything I've illustrated with this technique, but I think it's turned out fairly well. Now I'm going to digitally finish off the illustration in photoshop, and add design elements for the post card, which I should hopefully be posting here soon.

This is a thumbnail sketch for an new personal illustration I'm working on. The work will be a postcard that I will mail out for self - promotion. I was thinking about what I wanted to say about myself, especially since this would be my first promo post card, I thought that it should convey an emergence, the initial steps to a greater exploration. I wanted to show I am a new artist looking to begin to share my work and my imagination with others, and to hopefully engage with a variety of people in all walks of life. Also I wanted to express my current interest and influence by science fiction works, books, and artwork. The image of an astronaut like explorer who would represent me as an artist, rising out of his electronic constrains to advance into the focal point.

Another illustration for Beatroute Magazine, this one is about artist Corb Lund and his new album, " Losin' Lately Gambler". It will be in the October issue, do check it out.

I finally finished my online portfolio. I'm happy with how it turned out, and I'm rather excited to now have some online representation. There are lots of things to see that haven't graced this blog, so go see.
